It’s time to tell you all about our Wednesday on Week 2 of the Living Your Faith Summer Camps. What a great day it was!
We started with a coach ride to Swindon which left the Convent at 9.30am. We arrived at the Oasis Leisure Park ready for our session in the pool. There were lots of smiles all morning as people went down the various slides, swam in the waves and had a great time. Our hour slot flew by and soon enough it was time to get out and get changed. We then headed to Lydiard Park for our lunch, and of course had to play a game of rounders! We also had an ice cream from the cafe and then got back onto the coach for our short trip to the bowling alley. A competitive game followed, and Maeve came out on top with an excellent score of 105! Some time in the arcade followed, with Tom Osman winning the racing car game. Steve beat him on the air hockey though!
We returned to Nympsfield and had time for showers. After that, it was time for our movie and we thoroughly enjoyed Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. It’s no Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 though!
After dinner, we had our Prayer Stations. As a group we prayed together for an hour and 50 minutes in front of the Blessed Sacrament and the various stations that had been set up in the chapel. There was also an opportunity to talk to Fr Tom about things if we wanted to. We had some praise and worship at the end too, and yet again there was more fantastic singing from everyone. We left the chapel and headed to bed, tired but happy after a really fulfilling day!
