Wow, what a day Tuesday was. Absolutely packed and full of activity!
We started the morning with Fr Tom, hearing about the ‘Future of Hope’. We then celebrated Mass together with each group leading a part of the Mass such as the Penitential Rite and the Offertory. The children did themselves proud and were really confident in displaying their faith in front of others.
After a lunch of fish fingers and chips, we took part in the Nympsfield Mini-Olympics! The weather stayed dry and we were able to spend a good amount of time outside! Lots of relay races with the speed of Usain Bolt and then some more technical challenges like the athletes do in the heptathlon. We then came back inside where Angela and Fr Tom led us in a Penitential Service, helping us to reflect on the things we have done wrong and how we can put them right. We then started to think about Romero Crosses and how beautiful they are, particularly as symbols of hope. We put some of our ideas onto paper and are looking forward to painting our crosses on Thursday.
After a hearty dinner of pizza and salad, we had a really fun messy games night! Some of the challenges included eating a bar of chocolate with a knife and fork, eating a doughnut with no hands from a string (even harder to resist licking our lips!) and the ‘Pug Mountain’ challenge. I’m sure you will hear about this soon! Henry then led us in a beautiful night prayer before we headed to bed, ready for our day out tomorrow!
We are looking forward to telling you how that one goes already! Speak soon!
